When you really, really, really want to win.
Who is Dave L. Pearson
Dave L Pearson is an aging revoltionary.  Born in 1950 he grew up in the tumultuous 60's.  He graduated from Boise State University where he boasts credits form Boise Junior College, Boise College, Boise State College with a degree from Boise State University.  Never believing college was in his future but always anxious for learning he received the Jr. College credits while still in high school (BORAH).  After graduating from high school he entered college with his brother, who had just returned from the Air Force.  He quit after a bit, just before the semester ended, and took "F's" in all classes.  Pearson entered the US Navy on Feb 3 1969 and became an Air Traffic Controller.  While in the Navy, Pearson took college classes whenever he could (Mostly because the Navy encouraged attending school and offered favorable duty to facilitate it.) and has credits from the University of the Philippines, the University of California and others.  Upon separating from the Navy honorably in 1972 Pearson worked for a very short time with the DOD and the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller.  It was during this time that he became disillusioned with the federal government's ability to do much of anything right.  Pearson returned home to Idaho to finish remodeling the home after his father had a series of strokes and re-entered Boise State College.  Be happenstance he chose Communication as a major after going through many alternatives when he was asked to give a speech using a prop for a Speech 101 class.  The prop it turned out was his dog Basketball Jones and the topic was how to groom a dog, something Pearson had never done.  While working his way through College in a pizza parlor, Pearson was befriended by the owner of an all news radio station.  Thus began his slide into journalism.  He became an on-air personality and assistant general manager of the station and "camped out" on the doorstep of the owner of a weekly business newspaper in order to obtain a job in the print journalism business.  That owner, it turns out, was active in conservative causes and caused Pearson to run his first campaign in 1976.  After his journalism work, Pearson became the Executive Vice President of the Idaho Association of Realtors, who wished at the time to increase their political clout.  Pearson felt the best way to do that was to elect members to the legislature, so he set about doing that.  In the first effort, one was elected.  In the second effort, seven were elected.  That caught the eye of the newly elected Chairman of the Idaho Republican Party who came calling and asked the question, since you are electing Republicans, why not work for the party?  Pearson's answer was yes and the rest is history.  Since those years, Pearson has worked on the Hill for Idaho U. S. Senator Steve Symms, consulted with and/or managed hundreds of campaigns, worked as regional representative for the Republican National Committee (RNC), during which the GOP took the house for the first time in 40 years, and generally has developed a niche for special and primary elections. "I remember when we said never trust anybody over 30." Pearson is fond of saying, "Now I'm thinking that should be amended to under 30."
